To develop, coordinate, and promote workforce, educational, and community enrichment programs that support lifelong learning, career advancement, and community engagement. Working collaboratively with local partners, the Coordinator helps ensure programming is accessible, responsive to community needs, and aligned with opportunities for individual and economic growth.
Terms of Employment:Full time position, salaried at $45,000 for 182 days across the summer and academic year - individual health care coverage included in benefits package. Days/hours worked, and work from home/at the office hours will be decided according to the program work flow, and at the discretion of the Director of Adult Education.
Qualifications- Relevant professional experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Strong communication and customer service skills (written and verbal)
- Experience in event coordination, marketing, and data management
- Experience working with adult learners, particularly those facing employment or economic challenges
- Proficiency with digital tools (Google Workspace, Word Press, Zoom, Canva, Meta Business Suite, and AI platforms)
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
- Passion for engaging learners in meaningful, real-world learning experiences
- Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends
- Adaptability and willingness to adjust responsibilities based on program needs
- Lead marketing and communications for Adult & Community Education programs and assigned Island Connectivity Hub initiatives, including social media, website content, email campaigns, press releases, and multimedia assets.
- Maintain and manage the program website and online registration systems.
- Coordinate regional outreach and cross-promotion with Hancock County adult education programs and community partners.
- Collaborate with the Director to develop, publish, and promote course catalogs and program offerings.
- Serve as the primary contact for community education inquiries and participant support.
- Recruit, support, and retain instructors, volunteers, and participants for workforce and community education programs.
- Gather and analyze participant and instructor feedback to evaluate programs and guide continuous improvement.
- Manage non-DOE program data systems and assist with reporting, grant applications, donor engagement, and stakeholder communications.
- Assess community needs and interests to develop responsive educational and enrichment programming.
- Coordinate scheduling, logistics, instructor onboarding, and promotion of community education offerings.
- Support programming in workforce development, digital literacy, financial literacy, public safety, healthy aging, arts, and other emerging community priorities.
- Serve as Chief Examiner for the High School Equivalency Test (HiSET).
- Administer CASAS assessments and other student intake processes as needed.
- Participate in professional development and contribute to local, regional, and statewide committees and initiatives.
