Summary:
Homebound/Based Teachers Meeting with students who are placed on medical homebound or home based and are not able to attend school, to help maintain grades and stay current on classroom events. The classroom teacher will provide assignments. The homebound/based teacher acts as a "facilitator".
Essential Duties:
- Maintain close contact with the student's teachers, counselors and the homebound/based coordinator.
- The teacher must maintain accurate records of the hours of instruction provided and submit the information with the school division representative. (Purple Timesheet). This is to include 1 hour planning time per week for teacher to gather assignments from teachers and go over lesson plans etc
- Submit the student's completed work to the student's classroom teacher(s) prior to the end of the grading period.
- Maintain written documentation of work completed.
- Provide a written record of work completed if student is on virtual learning.
- Document any time that is interrupted due to child not being available at the time designated for instruction.
- Teachers may meet in the student's home or another designated location. Ensure parent is present if working in the home at all times Ensure another adult/parent is present if working in an alternate location.

Job Functions:
- Maintain a relationship with the student's parents/guardians to ensure student is available for scheduled meeting times.
- Discuss concerns parents might have pertaining to grades, behaviors, medical needs, and other concerns.

Qualification:
Bachelor's Degree Licensed Teacher in the state of VA The homebound/based teacher must be highly qualified to work with students on a 1-1 basis as needed. Highly qualified in the subject areas the student requires to maintain grade average
Salary and Benefit:
