Position Summary

Brief Description of PSU/School/Dept

Position Summary
- Approaching its 18th year, thePSUBSWProgram is the onlyCSWEaccredited undergraduate social work degree offered in a public institution of higher education in Oregon. PSU'sBSWProgram emphasizes critical thinking, innovative pedagogy, anti-oppressive, equity-aligned, and transformative social work practice. This position is open to instructors interested in teaching in Portland, Oregon, and/or in our online (asynchronous) program. Our greatest need is a more robust pool of adjuncts teaching in-person, on campus in Portland. Each academic year, there is a need to hire adjunct faculty to teach. While there is no guarantee that a course you are interested in and qualified to teach is available, we often seek additional and qualified instructors to teach across the curriculum and have experience and/or strong interest in working with the communities in the state of Oregon and its surrounding geographic places.

TheBSWProgram will collect applications on an ongoing basis to fill vacancies throughout the academic year. Review of applications occurs as new sections or instructors are needed.

Minimum Qualifications - M.S. or M.A. in Social Work (or closely related field) and two years post-degree practice experience. Seminar and Liaison positions require: two or more years in combination of the following: – field liaison; or –BSW/MSWfield instructor; or – staff supervisor; or – social work educator, trainer or community member in service to social work higher education.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous undergraduate teaching experience.
