Adjunct Global Campus Instructor – Writing Courses
Position: part‑time, temporary instructor for foundational college writing courses with a full‑time equivalent of 0.475. Pay is hourly, ranging from $19.25 to $29.97.
Key Responsibilities- Post faculty guidance and course expectations in the learning management system.
- Facilitate and engage in online discussion boards, grade assignments and discussions, and respond promptly to student inquiries.
- Maintain a student‑centered learning environment that encourages active engagement and critical thinking.
- Collaborate with the Office of Access and Wellness, Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning, and Student Records to support student success and compliance.
- Complete one professional development session per course taught.
- Provide challenging, constructive feedback that promotes higher‑order thinking and skill development.
- Hold students to high expectations while ensuring accountability for assignments.
- Integrate instructor expertise and real‑world examples into course content and resources.
- Implement course and instructional improvement initiatives recommended by department leadership.
- Use student success data to inform teaching practices and curricular design.
- Consistently practice continuous improvement based on reviews, coaching, and observations.
- Create inclusive, engaging, and supportive online learning environments.
- Communicate effectively and compassionately with diverse adult learners.
- Align academic content with workforce needs and industry trends.
- Proficient in educational technology and learning management system usage.
- Interpret student success metrics and apply insights.
- Demonstrate a student‑centered culture of care, proactive outreach, and individualized support.
- Embed workforce relevance into writing instruction.
- Master’s degree in English, Composition, Rhetoric, Literature, or a related field.
- Experience teaching, tutoring, coaching, or supporting writing development at the college level.
- Doctorate in English, Composition, Rhetoric, Literature, or related field.
- At least 3 years of college‑level teaching experience.
- Experience teaching writing online to students with varied skill levels.
- A demonstrated history of student success and writing development.
- Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
