Pay Range: $1,440 to $1,800 per credit.
Hours:
Course is taught TuTh 9:30-10:50am. Additional time as determined by department/chair. Office hours required.

Job Description:
Teach one course of ENG
303 Writing Fiction for 3 credit hours in the Spring 2026 semester in-person on the SU campus. Start date for this position is 1/05/2026, with first day of class being 1/12/2026. The hiring rate of pay for the successful candidate will be determined based on their per-credit-rate-history within the hiring department. All course offerings are subject to funding availability and enrollment.

MFA in Creative Writing required, with prior teaching experience.
Responsibilities:
Part-time Instructor duties will include the following: developing and/or updating a class syllabus, ordering the appropriate books and materials in advance of the class start date, preparing lectures, projects of other student assignments, maintaining regularly scheduled office hours of two hours per week, presenting instruction based on the competencies and performance levels of the class, meeting all designated class periods, working with the academic unit to maintain student learning outcomes, submitting completed final grades according to University regulations, grading student assignments and exams in a timely manner, providing departmentally sanctioned forms for completed student evaluations, completing all other course-related duties as outlined by your department's policies for part-time instructors.
