Position Summary

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Manhattan University invites applications for one Visiting Assistant Professor position beginning August 2026. We seek dynamic teacher-scholars committed to excellence in undergraduate and graduate education, mentoring, and impactful research aligned with our teacher‑scholar model. Candidates are sought in two primary areas: (1) Solid Mechanics & Mechanical Systems and (2) Thermal/Fluids Engineering. Within these core domains, we are particularly interested in applicants whose work intersects with one or more emerging areas, including Artificial Intelligence, Data‑Driven Engineering Systems, Sustainable Building Systems, Energy Infrastructure, Mechatronics, Intelligent Systems, Aerospace Propulsion, and Space Systems.

This is an excellent time to join the Department of Mechanical Engineering. Having undergone significant growth over the last decade, the department has started to offer concentrations in Biomechanics and Aerospace at the undergraduate level, in addition to the eight concentrations currently offered in the graduate program.

This is an in‑person, on‑campus, non‑remote position.
