Holy Cross Academy is seeking a faith‑filled, organized, and nurturing Preschool Director to lead and oversee our early childhood program. The Preschool Director is responsible for the academic, operational, and spiritual leadership of the preschool, ensuring a safe, developmentally appropriate, and Christ‑centered environment that supports the growth of young children and fosters strong partnerships with families.
Job Responsibilities- Provide leadership and supervision for the preschool program, staff, and daily operations.
- Ensure developmentally appropriate curriculum and instructional practices aligned with diocesan, state, and school standards.
- Integrate Catholic teachings, values, and traditions into curriculum, routines, and classroom culture.
- Recruit, hire, supervise, evaluate, and support preschool teachers and staff.
- Maintain a safe, nurturing, and structured learning environment for young children.
- Oversee student assessment, progress monitoring, and program evaluation.
- Ensure compliance with diocesan policies, licensing regulations, and accreditation requirements.
- Develop and manage preschool schedules, enrollment procedures, and records.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with families, staff, and administration.
- Collaborate with school leadership to align the preschool program with the mission and goals of Holy Cross Academy.
- Coordinate professional development opportunities for preschool staff.
- Participate in school liturgies, meetings, events, and community activities.
- Promote the preschool program within the school and broader community.
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, or a related field required;
Master’s degree preferred. - Valid early childhood education certification/license required (or ability to obtain per diocesan and state requirements).
- Minimum of 3–5 years of preschool or early childhood teaching experience required.
- Prior leadership or administrative experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of child development, curriculum design, and early childhood best practices.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and work collaboratively with staff and families.
- Practicing Catholic preferred; must support and model Catholic teachings and traditions.
