The Online Learning student employee will assist the Online Learning Department in providing quality support to those who utilize online technologies at Bay College. The purpose of the Federal Work‑Study Program is to give a student an opportunity to develop skills, gain on‑the‑job experience for future employment, and provide flexibility to work around class schedules.
Minimum Qualifications- Experience with online/hybrid courses in Blackboard and myBay
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Drive/Docs
- Enthusiastic to learn new technology and software
- Familiar with general computer technology, including tablets and smart phones
- Experience providing customer service
- Enjoys working with people
- Able to communicate effectively with a positive attitude
- Able to follow established procedures and closely follow written and oral directions
- Attentive to detail
- A high level of personal integrity
- A registered Bay College student enrolled in the Fall and/or Winter semester
Must be a Bay College student in the work‑study program. Eligibility is determined after filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Work‑study requires enrollment of at least six credits during the employment semester and maintaining satisfactory academic progress.

Works under the Executive Director of Online Learning and Instructional Design

Physical DemandsEmployees must stand, move around the center, sit, use hands to handle objects, reach, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk or hear, and occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Job Duties- Providing technical assistance to students
- Assisting with troubleshooting questions or problems related to online learning
- Assisting with designing, developing, and delivering training
- Assisting with the development of instructional products
- Ensuring students complete the Online Learning Orientation (OLO)
- Remediating inaccessible digital documents to meet accessibility guidelines
- Resolving tickets in the online help ticketing queue
- Other activities as assigned by the Executive Director or Instructional Designer that contribute to the advancement and success of online programs at Bay College
