Position Overview Come join an established and highly successful School of Physician Associate Studies (SPA) program in the beautiful Willamette Valley, in Hillsboro Oregon. Our team is collaborative, inclusive, and mission-centered. We are focused on mentoring future colleagues who are empathetic, responsive, service-driven clinicians who reflect the diverse populations we serve.
We are seeking a dynamic, clinician-focused educator to join our Didactic Team as a tenure-track faculty member. Housed within the innovative College of Health and Rehabilitation Services, our faculty enjoy a collaborative environment with robust opportunities for interprofessional education.
Responsibilities include teaching across the didactic and clinical phases of the Master of Science in Physician Associate Studies program; active participation in service at the program, division, and university levels; and the development of a sustained, peer-reviewed scholarly portfolio consistent with expectations for a tenure-track appointment.

Core Responsibilities
- Teaching & Facilitation:
Deliver engaging instruction across both the didactic and clinical phases of the Master of Science in Physician Associate Studies program. Serve as a small group and simulation facilitator. - Clinical Skills & Evaluation:
Participate in the coordination, training, and evaluation of students for physical exams, laboratory medicine, standardized patient interactions, clinical and technical skills. - Scholarship & Service:
Develop a sustained, peer-reviewed scholarly portfolio consistent with tenure-track expectations, with support and mentorship from senior faculty and the University. Participate actively in service at the program, division, and university levels. - Student Mentorship:
Serve as an Academic Advisor to students throughout their educational journey, tracking academic and professional progress. - Community Engagement:
Supervise PA students at a low-cost community clinic, health fairs, and outreach projects, proudly representing the School to the medical and university community. - Program Excellence:
Assist with ongoing program assessment and data analysis for accreditation.
Required Qualifications:
- Credentials:
Certified PA, MD, DO, or FNP. - Licensure:
Currently licensed in Oregon, or eligible for Oregon licensure (with the ability to obtain an active license within 90 days of hire). - Education:
Master's degree or higher from an accredited institution. - Clinical
Experience:
A minimum of three (3) years of active, hands-on clinical experience involved in direct patient care. - Interpersonal
Skills:
Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills. A proven history of open, collaborative, and collegial interactions. - Leadership & Motivation:
Strong organizational skills with the ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve academic and professional goals. - Travel:
Ability to travel occasionally as needed to fulfill program and clinical site duties.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Five (5) or more years of active clinical practice.
- Prior teaching experience in an academic setting or significant experience as a clinical preceptor.
- Prior administrative experience within a medical or educational program.
- Technical proficiency with Learning Management Systems (e.g., Moodle, Canvas) and data management tools (e.g., Excel).
