Position Description
International Student Affairs and Study Abroad (ISASA) is looking for a student assistant to help with an exciting project in May. You will play a key role in making our campus more inclusive by conducting research on local cultural resources, designing visual materials, and creating PPT for a targeted cultural group and specifically the Muslim student community. This position will also help with conducting interviews and gathering data from the interviews for our Study Abroad initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cultural Research:
Research and compile a comprehensive guide of local Muslim resources, including nearby mosques, halal restaurants, community centers, and grocery stores, specifically for newly arrived students. - Designing Resources:
Create informational pamphlets and a comprehensive PowerPoint presentation for the New Student Orientation to ensure welcoming of Muslim culture. - Interview and Document:
Conduct informational interviews (20-30 minutes), compile and transcribe recordings, and draft targeted questions regarding study abroad interests and barriers to be integrated into the campus-wide annual survey.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in MS PowerPoint, Canva or similar
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Experience with customer service
- Eligible for Federal Work Study, with an accepted FWS award

Wage Range:
Wages are based on Washington State's minimum wage requirements. $18.25 per hour

Working Conditions:
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, and/or crouching; and fine finger dexterity. May need to lift up to 25 lbs. Generally, the job requires 80% sitting, 10% walking, and 10% standing.
Digi Pen Student Employee Academic Requirements:
- Are currently a Matriculated student at Digi Pen Institute of Technology
- Good Academic Standing – not on Academic Warning as defined in Digi Pen Course Catalog
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
