A Saginaw Public Schools Turnaround teacher skillfully demonstrates the capacity to align curriculum, instruction and assessments while responding to the individual needs of students; the willingness to seek out knowledgeable peers, coaches or administrators for instructional support the desire and ability to work in a multi-cultural, urban setting and develop a rapport with students, staff, parents, and the school community. They prioritize student-learning needs over the customs, routines, and established relationships that can stand in the way of necessary change;

Duties and responsibilities include planning, preparing and delivering instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences, developing schemes of work and lesson plans, establishing and communicating clear objectives for all learning activities, preparing classroom for class activities, identifying and selecting different instructional resources and methods to meet students' varying needs, instructing and monitoring students in the use of learning materials and equipment, using relevant technology to support instruction, observing and evaluating student's performance and development, assigning and grading class work, homework, tests and assignments, providing appropriate feedback on work, encouraging and monitoring the progress of individual students, maintaining accurate and complete records of students' progress and development, updating all necessary records accurately and completely as required by laws, district policies and school regulations, preparing required reports on students and activities, managing student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and…
