CTE Agriculture Teacher, Grades 9-12

Job Summary

State‑certified Agriculture Career Exploration and Elective Teacher (Grades 9‑12) delivering curriculum in an online environment for Ohio Virtual Academy (OHVA). Responsible for instruction, student support, and post‑secondary planning via Stride K12 LMS.

• Deliver synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences.
• Personalize instruction and differentiate by student mastery.
• Maintain grade book, manage student progress, and prepare students for standardized tests.
• Communicate regularly with students, parents, and coaches; provide instructional and troubleshooting support.
• Use online tools to develop and monitor post‑secondary success plans.
• Collaborate with school and national professional learning community.
• Travel periodically (up to 25%) for professional development and testing.
• Maintain knowledge of state, national, and industry standards.
• Support project‑based learning model.

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Active CTE state teaching certification or active high‑school grade‑level state teaching certification with CTE validation.
• Successful completion of required background checks.

• Ability to interpret student data and use it for instructional decisions.
• Willingness to receive coaching and adapt to change.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint.
• Rapid learning of new technologies and teaching platforms.

• Experience teaching 9‑12 age group.
• Experience supporting students in technology use.
• Experience teaching online and/or in traditional settings.
• Experience with project‑based learning.

• Residency requirement:
  Ohio.
• Work Environment:
  Home office with moderate noise; occasional meetings statewide.
• Full‑time, 40+ hours per week (typically 9‑5 or 8‑4).
