Associate Professor/Professor of Technology & Operations
The Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan invites applications for a tenured faculty position (Associate or Full Professor) in the Technology and Operations area, with a research focus on sustainable and resilient semiconductor manufacturing and supply‑chain operations. This appointment is part of a major interdisciplinary faculty cluster—Sustainable Semiconductors for a Secure Future—spanning the Ross School of Business and the College of Engineering.
Job SummaryTenured faculty in the Technology and Operations area will conduct world‑leading research in sustainable semiconductor manufacturing and supply‑chain operations, contribute to teaching at undergraduate, masters, and doctoral levels, and engage with industry partners and policy communities. The role requires interdisciplinary collaboration, external research grant acquisition, and mentoring of students and junior researchers.
Required Qualifications- Doctorate in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field.
- Track record of research in sustainability (low‑carbon manufacturing, circular economy), supply‑chain resiliency, or advanced manufacturing (semiconductor, electronics).
- Experience with interdisciplinary collaboration with engineering, materials, or computer science colleagues.
- History of external research funding from federal agencies and/or industry.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor a diverse community of students and junior researchers.
- Experience translating research through industry partnerships, pilot deployments, or policy engagement.
- Leadership experience in academic settings at the faculty level.
