Fox Valley Technical College is establishing a pool of qualified candidates to teach Marketing courses. Adjunct faculty are dynamic partners for students and the College. An adjunct instructor works with students beyond the classroom to ensure their success, models FVTC core values, and demonstrates commitment to excellence in program/course content and delivery. They are expected to be collaborative, innovative, and proficient with technology that supports learning.
EssentialJob Functions
- Plan, develop, and implement appropriate instructional strategies, including alternative delivery strategies when appropriate.
- Assist and advise students on assignments, tests, grades, course content, career concerns, and other academic matters.
- Research, develop, and administer skills assessments before, during, and after courses, emphasizing student performance evaluation.
- Promote student success through timely communication, growth‑based feedback, and strategies that meet diverse learners’ needs.
- Comply with college policies for student testing, record keeping, advanced standing, grading timelines, and maintaining office hours.
- Maintain professional currency and contribute to a collaborative culture across the College.
- Attend division, department, and advisory committee meetings as requested.
- Participate in staff development activities such as diversity awareness and technology training.
- Demonstrate commitment to the college’s mission, vision, and values.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Associate Degree or equivalent may be considered based on experience).
- Minimum of two years of relevant occupational experience; at least one year within the last five years. One year of recent experience may be waived if the candidate has at least two years of post‑secondary teaching experience within five years prior to hire. Two years of occupational experience preferred.
- Prior teaching or training experience preferred.
- Qualified per FVTC requirements and must maintain Higher Learning Commission (HLC) requirements, Faculty Quality Assurance Standards (FQAS), and other licensure standards.
- Knowledge of current educational methods, learner‑centered instruction, assessment, and collaborative techniques.
- Skilled in educational technology and alternative delivery methods.
- Ability to infuse multicultural perspectives into course content and delivery.
- Effective communication with diverse socio‑economic and racial populations, including individuals with disabilities.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Capability to interact with business and industry to establish partnerships and address needs.
- Knowledge or experience with digital marketing tools preferred.
Hourly pay rate: $45.00 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, education, certifications, internal equity, and market data.
Adjunct instructors are hired on a per‑course basis. Total hours range from approximately 3 to no more than 8 hours per week, including day, evening, and weekend classes in traditional classrooms or alternative formats.
On hire, faculty must complete Blackboard Basics & Orientation for Adjunct Instructors within 30 days and additional training to qualify for teaching in the Wisconsin Technical College System within three years.
