Starting at $65,264 annually
- Set clear expectations and standards for excellence in literacy instruction across all content areas with the Principal and/or Director of Academics.
- Ensure students receive outstanding instruction in reading intervention classes by observing and coaching a cohort of reading intervention teachers.
- Ensure Emergent Bilingual (EB), non‑fluent, and dyslexic students receive appropriate accommodations in all classrooms through observation and coaching of content teachers and collaboration with instructional leadership.
- Track progress monitoring of reading intervention teachers and grades of EBs and dyslexic students and use data to drive coaching.
- Work with district Instructional Coaches to provide targeted support to first‑ and second‑year teachers.
- Collaborate with Home Office leadership on system‑wide instructional initiatives.
- Direct campus EB and dyslexia programs to ensure academic success of these students and maintain compliance with state and federal law.
- Coordinate and direct testing for special populations, including MAP and R‑CBM benchmarks, LAS, TELPAS, and dyslexia screenings throughout the year.
- Oversee EB compliance work completed by a campus clerk, registrar, or office coordinator.
- Ensure EB and dyslexic students receive appropriate accommodations on high‑stakes testing, including STAAR and Common Assessments, and assist in applying for accommodations for dyslexic students taking College Board exams.
- Provide one‑on‑one or small‑group literacy instruction to dyslexic students needing Level‑2 services and additional support in spoken English, writing or handwriting, or additional time in intervention.
- Assist in planning and delivery of professional learning opportunities to campus teachers and staff during the beginning of the year and select professional development days throughout the school year.
- Provide leadership in identifying and acquiring appropriate teaching materials, textbooks, and equipment.
- Teach two periods of reading intervention per day or serve as Dean of Instruction for four reading intervention teachers, as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four‑year educational institution.
- Valid Texas Teaching Certificate with ESL or Bilingual certification.
- Three years of literacy teaching in the classroom.

- Teaching experience related to Literacy (English, ELA, Reading Intervention, Dyslexia teacher, ESL teacher, etc.).
- Master’s Degree in Dyslexia, Education, Reading, Special Education, or a related field.
- Two years of direct‑instruction teaching experience.
- Familiarity with assessments central to this role – TELPAS, LAS, and MAP.

- Compensation: Salary commensurate with experience.
- Health and Supplemental Insurance: $0 monthly medical option with $600 towards a Health Savings Account; includes Dental, Vision, Disability, Life, and other supplemental benefits. Eligibility requires 20+ hours a week; 10 hours a week minimum for medical benefits.
