Job Description and Position Requirements
Penn State Abington’s Science and Engineering Division seeks an instructor in the area of Computer Science for a part‑time appointment to begin Fall 2026
.
- The successful candidate will teach one or more of the following college level courses in computer science:
Compiler construction, formal languages with applications, object oriented programming with web-based applications in Java. - The ideal candidate should be open to offering flexibility in course scheduling and methods of course delivery.
- Applicants must have the ability to communicate effectively with an ethnically and culturally diverse student population.
- Candidates must have completed at least a Master’s degree in either computer science, data science, or a related field.
- Preference will also be given to candidates with demonstrated excellence in teaching at the college level.
- Preference will also be given to candidates with teaching experience or strong subject matter expertise in Compiler Construction.
The review process will begin immediately and continue until the vacancy is filled. Applicants should submit an electronic dossier including:

- A curriculum vitae.
- A list of courses taught at the college level.
Candidates should be prepared to provide the names, titles, and contact information (telephone, email, and mailing address) of three (3) professional references, if requested.
