Theater Management III (Fall 2026)
The Department of Drama within the College of Visual and Performing Arts seeks a part‑time instructor to teach DRM 394 – Theater Management III, a three‑credit hour course, during the Fall semester, 2026. This course focuses on the history of management in American theater, covering community theater, regional theater, summer stock, New York commercial theater, educational theater, and theater serving diverse populations.

Pay Range: $1,483.20 – $1,751 per credit hour. Salary offers are based on education, experience, and relevant skills, as well as the academic or professional discipline of the position in the context of the home department, school, or college. Faculty pay ranges are for 8.5 months’ salary unless otherwise specified.

E. GENESSEE STREET RM 101, 08/25/2026 – 12/08/2026. Office hours are required.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (terminal degree preferred) and 2+ years of experience teaching at the college level.
Job Specific
Qualifications:
- At least 5 years successful experience working professionally in theater management.
- Demonstrated teaching effectiveness.
- Expertise in a diverse range of voices in contemporary and historical theater.
Responsibilities:
- Teach class twice per week for 80 minutes. Create or adapt current syllabus.
- Preparation of lectures, projects or other student assignments.
- Maintaining regularly scheduled office hours.
- Presenting instruction based on the competencies and performance levels of the course.
- Meeting all designated class periods.
- If unable to meet class due to illness or emergency, exercise best effort to reschedule the class or obtain a substitute.
- Notify department chair of any absence and plan to cover the class.
- Submit mid‑semester progress reports and final grades according to University regulations.
- Grade student assignments and exams in a timely manner.
- Provide departmentally sanctioned forms for completed student evaluations.
- Build a positive rapport with students and other faculty.
