** The Assistant Director serves as a central staff member for the Office of Residence Life and provides guidance, direction, and support for the overall mission, vision, and goals of the residential program s person is responsible for the supervision of 6 – 12 live-in staff members

**** Essential Duties
*** Supervise, train and evaluate full-time masters' level and part-time graduate level professional staff members (40%)
* Assume leadership of one of these departmental initiatives:
Resident Assistant Recruitment & Selection, Student Leadership Development, Resident Assistant Training and Development, Second Year Programs, Student Academic Support, or Professional Staff Training and Development or other departmental initiatives (25%)
* Manage crises and serious incidents in collaboration with supervises, Resident Assistants, other central staff members, and university resources (15%)
* Teach departmental or divisional related courses (10%)
* Assist with University, divisional, and departmental student retention initiatives (10%)
** Minimum Qualifications
*** Master's degree in Education, College Student Personnel, Counseling, Human Development or related field
* 3 years of experience in a related field
* 1 year of post Master's Residence Life experience.
** Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
*** Able to work independently
* Demonstrated initiative
* Display strong commitment to student learning
* Communicate effectively
* Work collaboratively with stakeholders inside and outside of Miami
