Job Description

Academic Advisors partner closely with Co-op & Career Advisors (CCAs) and Faculty Advisors (FAs) to provide proactive, holistic support that connects academic planning, personal development, and career readiness throughout the student lifecycle. Academic Advisors serve as the primary point of contact for academic planning and progression, helping students develop clear, achievable pathways to graduation.

Through a developmental advising philosophy, AAs empower students to make informed decisions, build self-advocacy skills, and connect their academic experience to long-term goals. As part of the IAC model, Academic Advisors contribute to a shared advising structure that ensures coordinated communication, timely interventions, and a seamless student experience from matriculation through graduation.

Academic Advisors are guided by the advising core competencies as outlined in NACADA:
The Global Community for Academic Advising.
