About the role

In this role you act as a dedicated relationship-builder and vital operational liaison, taking ownership of the full enrollment lifecycle. Your focus will be on proactive recruitment by identifying and cultivating prospects through one-on-one meetings and recruitment events both on and off campus. As an Enrollment Counselor, you will guide applicants through the admissions pipeline, partnering closely with academic departments to streamline workflows, and serving as the primary advocate for students from all ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds.

The salary range for this position is $43,000-$47,000/yr.

What you'll do
  • Recruitment (50%)
    • Reach out to and develop relationships with new and prospective students.
    • Hold one-on-one meetings with each prospective student.
    • Attend on and off‑campus recruitment events.
  • Application Process (40%)
    • Facilitate the application process for students in assigned programs.
    • Partner with departments to improve the admissions process and understand program requirements.
    • Serve as liaison between prospective students and the departments.
  • Department Engagement and Training (10%)
    • Attend the department meetings of assigned departments.
    • Participate in professional development opportunities.
    • Assist Lead Enrollment Counselors in onboarding new employees.
    • Lead trainings for the Enrollment Department.
Qualifications
  • Required Education – Bachelor’s degree.
  • Preferred Education – Master’s degree.
  • Required Experience – 1+ year working in admissions at a private university or related experience.
  • Preferred Experience – 2+ years working in admissions at a private university or related experience.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities – Self‑starter, able to work independently and as part of a team, detail‑oriented, effective oral and written communication, adept with common communication tools (phone, email, chat, text), ability to organize and prioritize multiple duties, handle confidential information professionally, working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite, aptitude for technology, working knowledge of CRM technology, ability to work with students of all backgrounds.

Travel – Local, regional, and national travel is required.

Work Environment – The role operates in a professional office setting with standard office equipment. Employees are expected to demonstrate commitment to the university’s mission and values.

Physical Demands – Extended periods of sitting, frequent walking on campus, carrying materials, and occasional stair climbing. Reasonable accommodations are available.

Expected Hours of Work – Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week, with occasional evening and weekend work as needed.
