Overview
The Community Family Advisor at Oklahoma Virtual Charter Academy (OVCA) supports student and learning coach engagement to enhance academic growth. This full‑time remote position requires working independently 40+ hours per week, 8a – 5p, in a professional home office.
Responsibilities- Oversee a caseload of students assigned by the school to increase engagement, monitoring student log‑ins and class attendance, and delivering interventions such as Learning Coach training, catch‑up sessions, and time‑management support.
- Provide consistent, proactive support to students using data resources.
- Support students and Learning Coaches through the onboarding (Strong Start) process.
- Serve as the primary point of contact among students, Learning Coaches, teachers, and school administration.
- Pursue and apply continuous education and training to improve effectiveness in meeting dynamic student and coach needs.
- Two (2) years of college credit.
- Two (2) years of experience in education or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent problem‑solving and organizational skills with the ability to multitask.
- Customer‑service orientation and adaptability to a fast‑paced environment.
- Experience coordinating academically oriented clubs and extra‑curricular activities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and web tools.
- Familiarity with online learning experiences.
- Ability to travel 20% of the time and clear a required background check.
- Four (4) years of college education.
- Experience working with the proposed age group of students.
- Experience supporting adults and children in learning and technology use.
- Ability to learn new technology tools quickly, including database and web‑based tools.
This is a virtual position that may require one or more days each week in the office as determined by the supervisor. The work environment is representative of the virtual nature of the role, with reasonable accommodations available to support individuals with disabilities.
