Pay Range:
Salary offers at Syracuse University will be based on education, experience, and relevant skills, as well as the academic or professional discipline of the position in the context of the home department, school, or college. Salary offers may also be influenced by prior relevant work or industry experience, where applicable. Faculty pay ranges are for 8.5 months’ salary unless otherwise specified.

Job DescriptionThe Department of Psychology is seeking a part‑time instructor to teach PSY 383 Laboratory in Health Psychology during the Fall semester beginning August 2026 (3 credits). Course description:
Applied study of research questions and techniques in the field of health psychology. The hiring rate of pay for the successful candidate will be determined based on their per-credit rate content within the hiring department. This position is contingent on funding availability and enrollment.
- Candidates should hold a Ph.D. or be working towards a Ph.D. in Psychology or a related field.
- Developing and/or updating a class syllabus.
- Ordering the appropriate books and materials in advance of the class start date.
- Preparing lectures, projects or other student assignments.
- Maintaining regularly scheduled office hours of two hours per week.
- Presenting instruction based on the competencies and performance levels of the class.
- Meeting all designated class periods. If unable to meet with your class due to illness or emergency, exercise your best effort to reschedule the class or obtain a substitute. Notify the department chair or designated contact of your absence and your plan to cover the class.
- Working with the academic unit to maintain student learning outcomes.
- Submitting completed final grades according to University regulations.
- Grading student assignments and exams in a timely manner.
- Providing departmentally sanctioned forms for completed student evaluations.
- Completing all other course‑related duties as outlined by your department’s policies for part‑time instructors.
