Tutoring, Special Education Teacher, Teacher Assistant/ Paraprofessional
You recognize that moment. A student stops fumbling through words and begins reading with purpose. They meet your eyes and realize, "I can actually do this." If you want that work every single day, this is your place.
Unbound operates as a remote-first online school designed around measurable growth, not time logged. We've reimagined student learning to accelerate progress, sustain engagement, and produce confidence backed by evidence.
Most of your time will go toward delivering focused intervention sessions. The remainder supports brief motivational touchpoints that keep students progressing toward their targets. This position fits those who value independence, rapid feedback cycles, and visible results. It does not suit anyone seeking scripted routines or those uncomfortable working closely with data.
If you're ready to help students with reading challenges achieve real gains—and you want the latitude to customize your methods for each learner—let's talk.
What You Will Be Doing- Plan and facilitate virtual reading intervention sessions—small-group and individual—for students in grades 3 through 8
- Analyze reading assessment data to pinpoint fluency and comprehension deficits, then modify instruction in real time
- Adapt lesson activities to accommodate multiple reading levels, including specialized support for dyslexia and similar reading challenges
- Monitor student progress systematically and apply findings to shape upcoming sessions
- Conduct structured check-ins focused on motivation, building persistence, confidence, and pride in measurable improvement
- Deliver large-group, whole-class instruction or present material from a static curriculum
- Execute a rigid, pre-written program that ignores live student feedback and individual requirements
- Serve merely as a technology supervisor without offering substantive teaching and personal connection
- Depend on superficial incentives that fail to cultivate enduring motivation
Key Responsibilities
Take full ownership of student outcomes in grades 3 through 8—documented improvements in fluency and comprehension—by providing tailored virtual interventions and motivational guidance that strengthens confidence.
Basic Requirements- Bachelor's degree in education, literacy, or closely aligned discipline
- Reading intervention certification or endorsement (for example, Arizona Reading Specialist K-12 or equivalent state credential)
- Specialized training or certification in dyslexia intervention (or comparable structured literacy methodologies)
- Minimum of 2 years delivering small-group or individual reading interventions to students in grades 3–8
- Demonstrated experience working with students who have dyslexia or related reading difficulties
- Capability to analyze progress monitoring data and apply insights to guide and refine instruction
- Proven ability to engage and manage students virtually using clear, motivating communication strategies
- Availability to work in a hybrid capacity in Arizona when required
