Children's Cooking Instructor

Overview

SFC Jacksonville Inc., dba Sticky Fingers Cooking® of Northeast Florida is hiring a part-time After School Children's Cooking Instructor to cultivate COOL-inary Curiosity in Kids®. This position offers a flexible schedule with opportunities to grow, including afternoons on Mondays and Thursdays.

• Lead hour-long healthy and engaging cooking enrichment classes for students at on-site locations in the area
• Interact with children ages 3-18, parents, and school staff weekly
• Create creative recipes and teach new ingredients and healthy foods from around the world in a hands-on way
• Review weekly class curricula and prepare for instruction, including shopping for fresh ingredients
• Teach basic kitchen skills (washing, cutting, grating, stirring, measuring) and discuss nutrition, history, geography, and language behind each recipe
• Provide direction and encouragement to inspire kids to create new recipes each class

• Commitment to teaching full sessions (ranging from 4–12 weeks)
• Experience working with groups of children of varying ages
• Ability to manage and engage a group of 8–14 children with diverse backgrounds and academic levels
• Background check required upon hire
• Access to reliable transportation
• Timely communication with our team
• Punctual and reliable
• No professional cooking experience required
• Serv Safe Food Handler Certification is a plus (can obtain before teaching)

This position pays a starting wage of $60.00 per one-hour class plus food reimbursement. Choose days that work best with an option to work holidays or weekends. School assignments will be as close to your home/work as possible.

Sticky Fingers Cooking® provides paid hands-on training and individualized support. Our cooking kit contains all the necessary equipment and tools. We offer quality enrichment cooking classes before, during, and after school, as well as birthday parties, private cooking classes, and camps for children 3–18 years of age. We operate in select cities across the country.
