Walla Walla Community College (WWCC) invites applications to develop an applicant pool for adjunct faculty to teach course offerings throughout the academic year. Positions are part time and may be located on WWCC campuses in Walla Walla, Clarkston, Washington State Penitentiary, Coyote Ridge Corrections Center, as well as online/remotely. The current pool remains in effect until June 30, 2026. Closing:

WWCC seeks to develop applicant pools for adjunct faculty to teach course offerings throughout the academic year. WWCC offers opportunities for adjunct faculty to teach courses at all campuses and online/remotely. Part-time/temporary adjunct faculty positions offer flexible hours and the opportunity to assist a diverse group of adult students in achieving their educational goals. WWCC provides opportunities in extended learning, dual-credit, workplace learning, outreach learning, and personal enrichment programs.
ResponsibilitiesGeneral responsibilities include facilitating student learning through preparation and delivery of course materials, providing timely feedback on assignments and exams, assigning final grades, and connecting students to campus resources and support services. Essential responsibilities include:
- Teach assigned classes at the scheduled time and place
- Demonstrate professional skills appropriate to the teaching assignment
- Provide each student with a comprehensive syllabus at the beginning of the quarter
- Provide clear explanations, assignments, and directions
- Conduct appropriate and frequent evaluations of student performance and provide feedback
- Assign and submit grades based on evaluations and college policy
- Maintain student records and grades in the College's LMS
- Post and be available during reasonable office hours
- Maintain course outlines and syllabi to reflect program curriculum
- Review and recommend textbooks, materials, and technology
- Utilize available technology appropriate to the assignment

- Equity, diversity, and inclusion
- Digital and information literacy
- Commitment to continuing education and improvement in the discipline or program of expertise
Notes: Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. For remote work, must reside in WA, OR, , CA, IL, PA, or TX.
- Bachelor's Degree in Viticulture; closely related credentialing may substitute at the discretion of the college
- Demonstrated proficiency teaching at the college level (two years minimum); experience as a teaching assistant or adjunct instructor may count towards the requirement
- Master's Degree in Viticulture
- Experience teaching at a community college
- Experience using instructional technology to support student learning (LMS, digital whiteboards, Zoom)
- Experience teaching in multiple modalities (in-person, hybrid, blended, online)
- Experience working with diverse populations

Conditions/Terms of EmploymentThis is a part-time instructional assignment contingent on enrollment and located at the Walla Walla Campus. Applicants must provide documentation of lawful employment to work in the United States within three days of employment and provide transcripts. WWCC participates in E-Verify. A criminal history background check may be required. The college is tobacco-free. Direct deposit is required for salary payments.
CompensationCompensation for an adjunct assistant professor is contingent on enrollment and paid in accordance with the contract between the WWCC Board of Trustees and the WWCC Association for Higher Education. Refer to Appendix C for the adjunct salary schedule (found on the WWCC Human Resources Page).
