Position: Assistant Coordinator for Online Admissions and Student Affairs

Job Summary

The Assistant Coordinator for Online Admissions and Student Affairs provides dedicated support for the recruitment, enrollment, onboarding, and ongoing student success of learners in the Online Master of Social Work (OMSW) program. Reporting to the MSW Department Chair and working in close collaboration with the Director of Student Affairs and Admissions and the Online MSW Program Coordinator, this position plays a central role in advancing Morgan State University’s strategic priorities for enrollment growth, student retention, and expansion of high-quality online education.

Responsibilities
  • Support outreach and admissions efforts for the OMSW program, including coordination of virtual information sessions, enrollment events, and targeted outreach in approved expansion regions.
  • Serve as a secondary point of contact for prospective and admitted OMSW students, providing guidance on application processes, admissions timelines, and enrollment requirements.
  • Coordinate onboarding for newly admitted online students, including orientation programming, technology access, and connection to advising and student support services.
  • Work closely with the Director of Student Affairs and Admissions and the Online MSW Program Coordinator to support student retention, engagement, and progression.
  • Assist with student communication related to academic calendars, registration, policies, deadlines, and key milestones.
  • Maintain accurate student records and tracking data related to admissions, enrollment, progression, and student engagement in collaboration with Academic Affairs and Graduate Studies.
  • Support student success initiatives, including licensure preparation activities, writing support services, professional development programming, and mentorship initiatives funded through Title III.
  • Coordinate with Financial Aid, Student Accounts, and the Registrar’s Office to assist online students in navigating institutional processes related to tuition, billing, and aid.
  • Support community‑building efforts for online students through virtual programming, regional engagement activities, and professional development events.
  • Assist with data collection and reporting for Title III performance indicators related to enrollment growth, retention, student participation, and satisfaction.
  • Contribute to accreditation support activities, including documentation, student services reporting, and coordination of student‑facing components of CSWE reaffirmation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of the Title III project, the Online MSW Program and the School of Social Work’s strategic goals.
Minimum Qualifications Education
  • MSW from a CSWE‑accredited institution.
Experience
  • 2 years post‑MSW practice experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in higher education administration, student affairs, admissions, or program coordination.
  • Experience working with online or adult learners and familiarity with student support systems in a university setting.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and data management skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to student‑centered, equity‑focused practice.
Other Preferences for Consideration
  • DSW or PhD in Social Work or related field.
  • Experience in graduate admissions, enrollment management, or online program administration.
  • Familiarity with CSWE‑accredited social work programs or professional graduate education.
  • Experience supporting recruitment, onboarding, and retention initiatives for diverse student populations.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • DSW or PhD in Social Work or related field.
  • Experience in graduate admissions, enrollment management, or online program administration.
  • Familiarity with CSWE‑accredited social work programs or professional graduate education.
  • Experience supporting recruitment, onboarding, and retention initiatives for diverse student populations.
