Compensation and Benefits
Compensation: $801 per credit hour. Adjunct faculty are paid bi‑weekly upon signing payroll forms. Eligible for a tuition waiver for one class (up to four credit hours per semester) and a one‑credit HHPC Fitness Conditioning class. Tuition may be transferred to a qualified family member with proof of status. Additional benefits include free professional development, free library services, 403(b) participation, employee assistance program, voluntary Allstate/Aflac or Liberty Mutual coverage, and, for those teaching three or more credit hours, ERB contributions withheld each pay period.
Responsibilities- Teach college‑level courses and/or labs in the qualified discipline.
- Develop and revise instructional materials, present material in an organized manner, and evaluate student learning.
- Maintain student records, schedule and conduct office hours (minimum of one per week per course).
- Teach day, evening, weekend, and online classes, as assigned, at main and/or satellite campuses.
- Participate in Adjunct Professional Development activities.
- Promote school values of innovation, collaboration, accountability, respect, and excellence.
- Coordinate remote or hybrid work arrangements with the Dean and Human Resources; remote work outside the United States is not permitted.
- Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate credit hours in a relevant academic field (physics preferred).
- Experience teaching face‑to‑face, hybrid, or online courses and ability to use the college’s Canvas learning management system.
- Access to home internet, a personal computer, and telephone; able to use multiple technology platforms for student communication.
- Demonstrated skill and willingness to learn new technology.
- Experience working with Native American, Latinx, and other minority adult students is preferred.
- Strong commitment to the community college philosophy and values.
