This position is virtual and prefers Arizona residents, and is open to residents of the 50 states and Washington, D.C. It is a full‑time role requiring the ability to work independently for 40+ hours per week, maintain a professional home office, and travel occasionally for school functions such as state testing or professional development.
Responsibilities- Provide rich and engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for students.
- Commit to personalizing learning for all students and demonstrate a belief in all students’ ability to succeed and meet high expectations.
- Differentiates instruction based on student mastery level.
- Augments course content according to prescribed policies and procedures using appropriate tools under guidance from the principal and coach.
- Maintain the grade book, ensure student academic integrity, make placement and promotion decisions, and alert administrators to performance concerns.
- Prepare students for high‑stakes standardized tests.
- Establish and maintain positive rapport with families, and communicate regularly and timely with students, learning coaches, and parents.
- Support learning coaches and parents with curricular and instructional issues, and basic troubleshooting in a virtual classroom environment that aligns with academy policies.
- Travel as required (approximately once per month and/or 20% of the time) for face‑to‑face professional development, student testing, and other school needs.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Active state teaching license.
- Valid background check clearance.
- Experience teaching the proposed age group.
- Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology.
- Experience teaching in an online (virtual) or brick‑and‑mortar environment.
- Experience with online learning platforms.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data, and use it to drive instructional decisions.
- Receptive to receiving coaching regularly from administrators and teacher trainers.
- Ability to embrace change and adapt to ensure excellent student outcomes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms.
- Ability to maintain teacher certification, professional development hours, and fluency in K‑12 systems, programs, and curriculum.
Salaries will differ based on factors such as education, experience, qualifications, location, workload, and travel. The salary range is $35,102.00 – $52,652.00. Employees may be eligible for a bonus. A robust benefits package may include health benefits, retirement contributions, and paid time off.
