Your Role:

As a Career Development & Internship Specialist, you’ll help shape CEA CAPA’s innovative Career & Internship Programs (CIP), which include Global Internships, Business Consulting, Pre-Health and Pre-Law Shadowing, Community-Based Learning, and Research Placements. You’ll collaborate across teams to strengthen our CIP portfolio, manage the student pipeline, and embed career development into every stage of the student journey. You’ll also provide advanced career coaching to prepare students for success abroad.

Leveraging your experience in undergraduate student career coaching, program improvement, and project coordination, you’ll provide advanced career coaching and contribute to initiatives that enhance the student experience and support program growth.

What You’ll Do:
  • Coordinate and contribute to a variety of projects and initiatives that strategically develop, assess, enhance, and promote each strand of the CIP portfolio, in alignment with CIP departmental priorities and goals, and best practices in international education, undergraduate student career readiness, and diversity, equity, access, and inclusion.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on CEA CAPA Career & Internship Programs in the Phoenix home office and serve as a resource and liaison to the Enrollment & Advising and Institutional Relations teams on all CIP strands, including creating and offering ongoing trainings, answering questions, and addressing and problem‑solving any concerns that may arise.
  • Support Institutional Relations Regional Directors & Partnership Directors in the promotion of CEA CAPA’s Career & Internship Programming and support services to prospective students and U.S. institutions, including via virtual meetings, webinars, and strategic in‑person visits, as needed.
  • Work in partnership with Institutional Relations, Marketing, and Enrollment & Advising teams to monitor CIP student pipeline in assigned program locations and provide feedback on where additional recruitment support, campus visits, and reinforcement of expectations may be useful to reach and exceed targeted enrollment numbers per term.
  • Assist Custom Program Developer team by providing subject matter expertise and guidance on CIP program eligibility requirements, questions, concerns, program structure, and recommended inclusions for Custom Program proposals that include a Career & Internship Program component for new and repeat Custom Programs.
  • Support Enrollment & Advising team members in successfully setting clear expectations, holding accountable, guiding and supporting CIP students throughout the pre‑departure placement process by established and agreed upon internal deadlines.
  • Provide advanced NACE‑certified career coaching, such as on resume & cover letter writing and interviewing skills, to CIP students who exhibit a demonstrated need for advanced coaching in the Specialist’s assigned CIP locations and strands during the pre‑departure phase to best set them up for success and increase their placeability.
  • Expertly prepare students for the rigor of their chosen CIP, and when appropriate, retain and redirect them to another CEA CAPA program that is more appropriately aligned with their knowledge, skills, experience, interests, expectations, and goals.
  • Establish a consistent communication pipeline with onsite Career & Internship Programs staff in assigned CIP locations and strands to cultivate a seamless pre‑departure student experience within the context of career development and program preparation.
  • Develop and facilitate continued career development activities and initiatives for CIP alumni that ease their re‑entry process, enhance their employability, and help them successfully transition from college‑to‑career.
  • Assist with CEA CAPA emergency phone duties, as required.
