Description

This inaugural Program Chair position will lead the development and launch of the Online Mental Health Counseling (MMHC) program from inception through accreditation and implementation. The Chair will provide strategic, academic, and operational leadership for all aspects of program development, ensuring alignment with accreditation standards, institutional requirements, and professional best practices.
As the founding leader of the MMHC program, the Chair will play a critical role in shaping the program’s vision, establishing its reputation, building community and professional partnerships, and creating a sustainable foundation for long‑term growth and accreditation success.
Requirements- Demonstrated experience with CACREP accreditation standards and processes.
- Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) in Counselor Education and Supervision, or a closely related field, from a regionally accredited institution.
- Current, unrestricted licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), or equivalent credential.
- Minimum of five (5) years of combined experience in clinical mental health counseling practice and higher education teaching.
- Proven experience in academic program leadership, faculty supervision, or academic administration.
- Strong track record of curriculum development and outcomes assessment.
- Experience leading CACREP accreditation activities.
- Experience writing self‑studies.
Compensation is determined based on the qualifications, experience, and circumstances of each hire. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including a tuition waiver and reimbursement program, health insurance, paid time off, and a retirement savings plan. The salary range is $89,250 to $120,750.
ResponsibilitiesKey responsibilities include designing and developing the curriculum, creating policies, procedures, and assessment processes that support program quality and continuous improvement, and establishing systems that ensure compliance with all accreditation standards. The Chair will prepare and submit accreditation applications and reports, oversee the collection and analysis of assessment data, and implement quality assurance processes to support ongoing accreditation success.
The Chair will recruit, hire, onboard, supervise, and evaluate faculty and subject matter experts, fostering a collaborative culture of academic excellence and student success. Additionally, the Chair will work closely with university leadership, admissions, student services, and instructional design teams to develop program infrastructure, support enrollment growth, and ensure a successful program launch.
