Position: Bilingual Food Program Area Coordinator (2148)

Wisconsin Early Childhood Association is a statewide, nonprofit association serving as a professional association whose members care for and educate Wisconsin’s children, aged birth to eight. We are affiliated with the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Wisconsin Early Childhood Association works to build a foundation for a lifetime of learning for Wisconsin’s young children by promoting excellence in early education programs, supporting professionalism in the early childhood workforce, and calling for greater investment in quality early childcare.

WECA’s mission is to meet the professional needs of adults who nurture and teach Wisconsin’s young children through a rich continuum of services. The WECA Food Program is looking for part‑time bilingual Food Program Area Coordinators. The Food Program Area Coordinators are responsible for monitoring visits for WECA Food Program participants on the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) to ensure compliance with all program policies and procedures.

Position:
Part‑time Bilingual Food Program Area Coordinator. The position is hybrid, working from home and visiting childcare programs in the counties of Dane, Milwaukee, Kenosha and Racine. Living in the state of Wisconsin is required; living in the Milwaukee area is preferred.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Monitor WECA CACFP participants in their family childcare homes for compliance with USDA and Wisconsin DPI regulations concerning the CACFP.
  • Recruit and enroll childcare providers into the WECA CACFP.
  • Disseminate written program compliance materials and assist providers with recognizing and remedying non‑compliance; provide documentation and tracking.
  • Review and instruct providers on forms to be retained for program documentation.
  • Complete required home visit forms, online monitoring, and provide information to WECA Madison support staff.
  • Provide written nutrition materials and instruct providers on the required nutrition education component.
  • Communicate between participating providers and WECA claims staff for consistent USDA requirements performance.
  • Maintain knowledge of CACFP requirements through trainings and conference calls.

Education & Required Skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent with coursework.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, solve problems, and attend to multiple tasks.
  • Effective phone and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail, identify needs, and contribute to creative solutions.
  • Knowledge of the childcare and early education system and workforce in Wisconsin.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Access) and data entry.
Physical & Environmental Requirements

Work in an office setting using basic office equipment (computer, keyboard, copy machine, fax machine, telephone, printer, etc.).

Compensation

Pay rate: $49.00 per visit, $100 per month for office time, $21.02 per hour for meetings and training, and $0.51 per mile.
