The College of Health is accepting applications for adjunct faculty opportunities within the Division of Population Health Sciences (DPHS). The Division of Population Health Sciences within the College of Health (COH) offers Health Sciences courses for the Occupational Endorsement Certificate in Gerontology, the Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences, the Graduate Certificate in Public Health, and the Master of Public Health degree.
The College of Health, one of seven UAA schools and colleges, is a major center for development and delivery of professional, career and technical, community, and continuing education programs. In keeping with the mission of the University of Alaska, the COH has a commitment to innovation and flexibility ensuring high quality education and training available to all who have the ability and interest to pursue an education or profession.
The successful candidate will demonstrate experience with accepted instructional methods and a variety of teaching approaches, including providing feedback and formal evaluation. Experience teaching students with varied abilities, experience levels, and cultural backgrounds is highly valued.
Candidates will be evaluated on the suitability of their academic preparation, past teaching experience, expertise and/or experience relevant to the effective teaching of their field, and their potential to provide high-quality instruction to students from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences. Preference will be given to Alaska residents or individuals residing in Alaska during the semester in which they intend to teach.
Distance delivery is an important component of many UAA programs. Applicants should be prepared to teach courses in health promotion, health science, and public health in traditional classroom settings and/or online learning environments. Experience with web-based course delivery, instructional technology, and classroom teaching is preferred.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's degree or higher in field related to the position for undergraduate coursework.
- Master’s degree or higher in field related to the position for graduate coursework.
- At least one year of college-level teaching experience, preferably within the discipline of instruction, is strongly preferred; however, applicants without formal college-level teaching experience will also be considered.
- Qualifications may be demonstrated through previous employment, professional experience, certifications, instructional demonstrations, or a combination of these.

New hires will be placed on the UNAD Adjunct salary table. Salary is commensurate with education, experience, and type of work assigned.
