Montana State University seeks qualified individuals to provide non‑tenurable level instruction and/or related functions. Instructors are needed to teach classes depending upon need and available funding. Applications are accepted on a continual basis and will be maintained in a pool for two years; after two years, candidates may be asked to re‑submit materials for continued consideration.
Duties and Responsibilities- Teach on‑campus or online courses.
- Advising, evaluating, and assisting students.
- Participating in departmental faculty meetings and other departmental functions.
- BS Degree in Agricultural Education, Technology Education, or another field relevant to the position.
- MS Degree.
- Prior teaching experience directly related to the position for which you are applying.
- Experience teaching face‑to‑face, hybrid, and online courses using a Learning Management System.
- Demonstrated experience teaching interdisciplinary courses.
- Demonstrated knowledge of college student development.
- Ability to relate to students and develop classroom rapport.
- Ability to work effectively with a wide range of student populations.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate successfully with faculty and staff.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Skill in utilizing engaging pedagogy that involves students in the learning process.
- Initiative and ability to work well independently.
- Ability to learn material quickly and adapt to changing environments.
The position may be a union position. Any position that is 0.5 FTE or more is represented by the Associated Faculty of Montana State University (AFMSU). The position may chose to pay membership dues. Positions of less than 0.5 FTE are not represented by the Union and are not required to pay dues. FTE changes during employment may affect representational status.
