Job Summary
General Education High focuses on K12‑powered virtual high schools with 9‑12 programs offering core, comprehensive, credit recovery, honors, and Advanced Placement online courses and a wide variety of electives. The High School Math Teacher role involves building relationships with families, students, and learning coaches to ensure student success. This is a full‑time, remote position that prefers candidates residing in Arizona, though candidates from surrounding states may be considered.
EssentialFunctions
- Provide engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for students.
- Personalize learning for all students and demonstrate belief in their ability to succeed.
- Differentiate instruction based on student mastery levels.
- Augment course content according to prescribed policies and procedures using appropriate tools under guidance from principals and coaches.
- Maintain grade book, ensure academic integrity, make placement and promotion decisions, and alert administrators to concerns about student performance.
- Prepare students for high‑stakes standardized tests.
- Establish and maintain positive rapport with families and communicate regularly and responsively with students, learning coaches, and parents.
- Support learning coaches and parents with curricular and instructional issues and provide basic troubleshooting in a virtual classroom environment in line with academy policies.
- Travel as required (approximately once per month or about 20% of the time) for face‑to‑face professional development, student testing, and other school functions.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Active state teaching license.
- Ability to clear a required background check.
- Experience working with the proposed age group.
- Experience supporting adults and children in technology use.
- Experience teaching online (virtual) and/or in a brick‑and‑mortar environment.
- Experience with online learning platforms.
- Ability to collaborate with other teachers to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data to drive instructional decisions.
- Receptive to coaching and receptive to receiving regular feedback from administrators and teacher trainers.
- Ability to embrace change and adapt to ensure excellent student outcomes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint.
- Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms.
- Ability to maintain teacher certification, professional development hours, and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum.
- Exempt salary range: $43,877 – $54,846.
- Salary may vary based on location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions.
- Eligible employees may receive a bonus.

This position is fully virtual. Teachers will work from home, maintaining a professional, distraction‑free home office. The role requires independent work, typically 40+ hours per week, and occasional in‑person attendance for testing or professional development.
