Pay Range: $1,840 per credit hour
Salary offers at Syracuse University will be based on education, experience, and relevant skills, as well as the academic or professional discipline of the position in the context of the home department, school, or college. Salary offers may also be influenced by prior relevant work or industry experience, where applicable. Faculty pay ranges are for 8.5 months’ salary unless otherwise specified.

The College of Law is seeking a part‑time instructor to teach one or more sections of the following:
- Legal Foundations:
This is the first residential course in the online JD program. It is a two‑credit course designed to prepare students to study law. The course will introduce students to the American legal system, build a foundational understanding of the basic framework of legal and lawmaking institutions, and help prepare them to succeed in their legal studies. - Legal Communications and Research courses:
These courses introduce first‑year students to the fundamentals of legal research, writing, and advocacy.
- Excellent academic record and hold a JD degree from an accredited law school.
- Preferred post‑JD experience and credentials should include significant legal practice in diverse areas of law.
- Demonstrated commitment to excellent classroom teaching is required. Prior law school teaching is strongly preferred.
- Ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and community members from different backgrounds.
- Strong research and writing skills are necessary for this position.
- Provide detailed feedback on student assignments, prepare classes, and work on projects and other student assignments as needed.
- Order the appropriate books and materials in advance of the class start date.
- Prepare lectures, projects and other student assignments.
- Maintain regularly scheduled office hours.
- Present instruction based on the competencies and performance levels of the course.
- Meet all designated class periods.
- Submit completed mid‑semester progress reports and final grades according to the College of Law and University regulations.
- Grade student assignments and exams in a timely manner.
- Provide departmentally sanctioned forms for completed student evaluations.
