Job Overview
Middle School Math Teacher for a K12-powered virtual middle school. The role is remote, preferably for candidates residing in Missouri, with occasional travel for school functions.
Responsibilities- Deliver specific math course content in an online synchronous and asynchronous environment.
- Provide instruction, support, and guidance to students, managing the learning process and focusing on individual student needs.
- Use Stride K12’s learning management system to monitor student progress and maintain the grade book.
- Work closely with students, parents/learning coaches, and other faculty members to advance learning toward established goals.
- Prepare students for high‑stakes standardized tests.
- Maintain a positive rapport with families, communicating regularly and responding promptly to inquiries.
- Support learning coaches/parents with curricular and instructional issues and basic troubleshooting in the virtual classroom environment.
- Collaborate with principal and coach to differentiate instruction based on student mastery levels, augmenting course content as prescribed.
- Make student placement and promotion decisions, alerting administrators to concerns about performance and progress.
- Travel as required (approximately once per month or 20% of the time) for face‑to‑face professional development, student testing, and other school needs.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Active Missouri middle‑school math teaching license (or other state license with ability to obtain MO licensure within 60 days).
- Clearance of all required background checks.
- Ability to maintain a professional home office and work independently 40+ hours per week.
- Experience teaching 6‑8 year‑old students in online or blended environments.
- Experience supporting adults and children in the use of educational technology.
- Proficiency with online learning platforms and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to collaborate with other teachers to interpret student data and drive instructional decisions.
- Receptive to ongoing coaching from administrators and teacher trainers.
- Adaptability to change and commitment to continuous improvement.
- Ability to learn new technologies and teaching platforms rapidly.
- Maintenance of teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems and curriculum content.
Exempt salary in the range of $48,752 to $60,940, with potential bonus. Benefits include health coverage, retirement contributions, and paid time off. Compensation will depend on experience, location, and other factors.
