As an Orientation Leader, you will play a pivotal role in fostering transformative experiences for new students s position supports and guides students through their college journey, promoting personal growth, academic success, and community involvement. The position will focus its efforts during the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 Orientation, with optional opportunities over the Summer of 2026.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective engagement with diverse groups of students and university staff. They possess the ability to work collaboratively in dynamic academic environments and contribute to fostering inclusive and supportive communities. A genuine passion for supporting peers in their journey toward academic success and personal development is essential, along with a demonstrated commitment to service and community involvement.
Preference is given to individuals with prior leadership or mentoring experience, as these qualities reflect initiative, responsibility, and the capacity to positively influence others.
- Applicant must be enrolled as a UAF student taking a minimum of 6 credits per semester with a minimum GPA of 2.0 or higher, or be a newly enrolled student.
This position is located on the Troth Yeddah campus in Fairbanks, Alaska. This is a part‑time, non‑exempt student position. New hires will be placed on the UA Student Salary Schedule.
