Testing Center Specialist – Lake Nona Campus

Valencia College is hiring a part‑time Testing Center Specialist to support the Assessment & Testing Center. The specialist will administer and monitor standardized assessments, respond to inquiries, maintain data integrity, and ensure a secure testing environment. The role requires working with students, faculty, and testing agencies without close supervision. This position offers an hourly wage of $18.58 and benefits including free Lynx bus transportation, retirement savings options, and educational and professional development opportunities.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure eligibility of students taking assessments.
  • Administer and monitor standardized assessments.
  • Access, input, and retrieve data from multiple applications such as Banner and testing agency sites.
  • Respond to telephone and in‑person inquiries about the assessment/testing process and enrollment steps.
  • Maintain records of assessments and provide periodic reports.
  • Guide students in the use of Atlas in the enrollment process.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum high school diploma or GED.
  • Knowledge of computer systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Ability to read technical manuals and maintain the security of assessment programs.
  • Must complete required certification(s) to proctor exams within 20 business days of hire.
  • Availability to work primarily on‑site; occasional remote work possible.
  • Veteran’s Preference under Florida Statute 295.07(5)(a), F.S.
  • Must maintain Florida residency within 30 days of start date.

Preferred

  • Associate’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Experience with test administration, computer scanning, scoring, and supervision.
  • Experience with CLEP, TEAS, CJBAT, or other assessment programs.
  • Knowledge of assessment programs such as PERT, CLEP, TEAS, and CJBAT.
