Program Coordinator, Accounting and Finance

The Program Coordinator, Accounting and Finance, will be a member of a diverse team that supports student achievement and success from recruitment through graduation and beyond, advancing equitable economic mobility, personal empowerment, and transformed communities. A Program Coordinator is a full-time instructor who is given administrative release time to support student achievement and success from recruitment through graduation and beyond, advancing equitable economic mobility, personal empowerment, and transformed communities.

The Program Coordinator conducts college courses at appropriate quality for undergraduate students as assigned by the Department Chair and approved by the Dean. The Program Coordinator facilitates the learning process by designing and implementing appropriate, meaningful, and equitable instructional activities, and by drawing from the scholarships of teaching and learning and cultivating a supportive learning environment that allows students to think critically and experiment.

The Program Coordinator evaluates student learning by creating and implementing well-designed assessment tools. Additionally, the Program Coordinator participates in curriculum development, mentoring of students, helps students connect with academic and non-academic supports services as needed, and engages in institutional service, professional development, and other duties assigned by the Department Chair and Dean. The Program Coordinator also keeps accurate records pertaining to students and adheres to all institutional policies and procedures.

In addition to carrying out the duties of an Instructor, the Program Coordinator provides coordination, oversight and leadership for the assigned academic program or discipline. The Program Coordinator is also responsible for program development, equipment and facilities, personnel, and financial responsibilities. A Program Coordinator will be assigned a teaching load in his/her field of expertise under the approval of the Department Chair and Divisional Dean.

This is a 10-month faculty position in which the individual will teach courses primarily in the Accounting and Finance Programs.

This role is available to be a remote-work position. The remote instructor would have a minimum course load of 20-21 contact hours per semester which would include both online asynchronous and online synchronous modalities. (On-campus faculty have a minimum course load of 18 hours). The remote position will provide a minimum of 5 student hours weekly in an online synchronous format.

The faculty will participate in professional development, committees/teams, and meetings through remote access when those options are available.

Minimum Qualifications

* Master's degree or higher in Accounting or related field with 18 credit hours of accounting

* Willingness and ability to travel and work at offsite center locations as necessary

* Willingness and ability to teach face-to-face classes, online asynchronous, and online synchronous classes

* Flexibility to teach morning, afternoon, evening, online, and weekend classes as needed

* Ability to work in a diverse environment

* Experience with Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace, spreadsheets, presentation and collaboration apps and software

* Experience with distance learning technologies

* Strong written communication skills

* The successful candidate will be required to be on campus for Commencement, All Teams Day, and Convocation

Preferred Qualifications

* Accounting certification (CPA or CMA).

* Experience teaching in higher education.

* Experience with distance learning technologies.

* Knowledge and experience with de-escalation techniques.
