Job Summary

Galveston College is an innovative public post‑secondary institution, which is dedicated to student success and teaching and learning. Adjunct faculty are expected to demonstrate a commitment to academic excellence and are primarily responsible for providing instruction in their assigned courses. Adjunct Faculty are also expected to demonstrate and maintain competence in each of the areas in which they teach throughout their employment at the College.

Galveston College is seeking passionate and knowledgeable individuals to join our Adjunct Faculty Pool for the Nuclear Medicine Technology Program. We are committed to providing high‑quality, student‑centered education that prepares graduates to become compassionate, competent professionals in the field of nuclear medicine.

This adjunct position offers the opportunity to teach didactic, hybrid, or online courses for students enrolled in our JRCNMT‑accredited program. Essential Functions
  • Deliver engaging instruction in accordance with program curriculum and accreditation standards.
  • Supervise and evaluate student progress in the classroom setting.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with the Program Director to ensure curriculum alignment with ARRT/NMTCB standards.
  • Participate in program development, assessment, and student advisement as needed.
  • Demonstrate and apply thorough and accurate knowledge of their teaching field and discipline.
  • Maintain currency in subject matter through professional development.
  • Meet all classes on time as scheduled.
  • Effectively employ teaching and learning strategies, including instructional technology when appropriate, to maximize student learning and to meet diverse students’ needs.
  • Regularly evaluate teaching methods and use data to continually improve instructional effectiveness.
  • Encourage the development of communication skills and higher‑order thinking skills through appropriate assignments.
  • Develop and use evaluation methods that fairly measure student progress toward outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively with and provide feedback to students in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress.
  • Submit final grade rosters and supporting documents according to established deadlines.
  • Maintain familiarity with and adhere to College Policies and Procedures.
  • Maintain accessibility to students and colleagues.
  • Prepare, distribute, and submit syllabi and approved course outlines for all assigned sections in accordance with program, division, and College procedures.
  • Foster and maintain effective working relationships with students, colleagues, and supervisors.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information exposed to in the course of business regarding students, supervisors or other employees.
  • Contribute to a safe educational and working environment by participating in all drills and training and being prepared to take action should a health or safety emergency occur.
  • Require the kind of teamwork, supervision, and personal interaction that cannot be had in a home office situation; therefore, regular and predictable on‑site attendance is a job requirement.

Minimum Education , Skills, and Abilities
  • Associate degree or higher in Nuclear Medicine Technology or a related field (Radiopharmacy, Radiation Physics, Radiation Safety, or Instrumentation).
  • Current ARRT(N) and/or NMTCB or related certification.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of full‑time clinical experience in nuclear medicine technology or related field (Radiopharmacy, Radiation Physics, Radiation Safety, or Instrumentation).
  • Strong communication skills and a commitment to student success.
  • Ability to work with diverse student populations.
  • Ability to communicate and facilitate learning effectively and work collaboratively.
