School Summary
Georgia Connections Academy is a tuition‑free, full‑time virtual school for students in grades K‑12 throughout Georgia. The school is authorized by the Georgia Charter Schools Commission and governed by an independent Board of Directors, with a mission to maximize academic achievement for students who are seeking other academic options. The school is operated by Georgia Connections Academy, a nonprofit corporation, through a contract with Connections Academy of Georgia, LLC, to provide its educational program and other services.
Connections Academy, a division of Connections Education, is accredited by AdvancED, and GACA is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges & Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement.
Working from the Duluth, Georgia, office and from your home office within Georgia, certified teachers at Georgia Connections Academy support and motivate students through high quality virtual instruction using the Pearson Online Classroom. Teachers deliver synchronous and asynchronous instruction, provide intervention and enrichment, engage families, and use data to drive student learning and growth.

Teachers and Staff may also be required to support virtual administration of assessments, as scheduled by the school.
High School Graduation Coach Responsibilities- Analyze and monitor student data, including academic achievement, attendance, behavior, credit accrual, graduation progress, and postsecondary plans, to identify at‑risk students, evaluate intervention effectiveness, and support improved graduation outcomes for all student groups.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized graduation and achievement plans in collaboration with students, families, counselors, teachers, and school leaders to ensure students remain on track for graduation and successful postsecondary transitions.
- Coordinate and provide targeted academic interventions and support services, including tutoring, credit recovery, Accelerated Career, Dual Achievement, summer school, standardized test preparation (SAT, ACT, AP), career exploration, and postsecondary planning using tools such as Pathful Explore.
- Design and facilitate individual, small‑group, and school‑wide prevention and intervention programs that improve student engagement, persistence, attendance, behavior, academic success, and successful transitions into and through high school.
- Build strong partnerships with parents and families through ongoing communication, outreach, conferences, workshops, and engagement opportunities, while connecting students and families with appropriate educational, community, and social service resources.
- Collaborate with middle and high school staff to develop and implement transition programs for rising 9th‑grade students and provide training and support to educators and families on effective strategies for serving students at risk of not graduating.
- Maintain accurate student records and documentation, prepare required district and state reports, present student progress and program outcomes to school and district stakeholders, and participate in IEP, SST, 504, attendance, alternative placement, and other student support meetings.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with business, community, and postsecondary organizations to expand opportunities that support student achievement, graduation, career readiness, and successful postsecondary outcomes.
- Deliver high‑quality synchronous instruction and create asynchronous resources aligned to GACA curriculum and state standards.
- Provide differentiated Tier 1 instruction and collaborate within the MTSS/RTI model to plan and deliver Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions.
- Collaborate effectively with teachers and support staff to ensure all student accommodations are implemented with fidelity and aligned to individualized learning needs.
