Position Summary
Adjunct faculty serve as temporary part-time faculty and are appointed as needed on a semester‑by‑semester basis. The primary duty is effective teaching of college‑level courses and/or labs in the qualified discipline. Remote or hybrid work is approved in New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, and Texas with advance approval from the Dean and Human Resources. Remote work outside the United States is not permitted.
Responsibilities- Teach day, evening, weekend, and online courses as assigned.
- Develop, revise, and deliver instructional materials in an organized manner.
- Evaluate student learning, maintain accurate student records, and hold a minimum of one office hour per week per assigned course.
- Participate in adjunct professional development activities.
- Promote the School values of innovation, collaboration, accountability, respect, and excellence.
- Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate credit hours in a relevant field from an accredited institution.
- Preferred experience teaching traditional face‑to‑face, hybrid, or online courses.
- Proficiency with the Canvas Learning Management System and other technology‑enhanced curriculum tools.
- Access to reliable home internet, a personal computer, and a telephone.
- Willingness to learn and use multiple technology platforms to communicate with students.
Compensation: Adjunct faculty are paid either $778 per credit hour or an hourly rate as applicable, and are compensated on a biweekly basis. They may teach no more than 9 credit hours per semester, except upon approval by the Vice‑President of Learning and the Vice‑President of HR and Legal Activities.
