Open Positions
- Online Instructors – Lead classes via Zoom and Google Classroom with approximately 12 students. Curriculum is provided. Candidates must have a reliable computer, internet connection, and a quiet, professional space for teaching.
- On Campus Instructors – Positions are available at Stanford, UCLA, and UC Berkeley. These are residential positions with housing provided in university residence halls. Limited commuter positions may be available for local instructors.
Camp sessions are one week long and run from June 10 to August

Mock Trial participants work with a lead instructor to learn the structure of the court system, the differences between civil and criminal trial processes, and the methods for forming and presenting legal arguments. They gain exposure to substantive areas of law such as constitutional, criminal, and tort law, as well as rules of evidence. Activities include courthouse visits, client interviews, and professionally critiqued oral arguments.
The week‑long session includes at least two mock trials and culminates in a full‑length mock trial exhibition. Instructors must connect with and enthuse this age group; the program is campus‑based for an immersive learning experience.
This is a temporary summer camp position. The Mock Trial Instructor guides high school and/or middle school students through Education Unlimited’s mock trial curriculum. Instructors teach daily seminars and workshops, give small lectures, and manage and prepare students for trial. They track student work and submit deliverables to the camp director and EU home office.
Prior instructors were attorneys with mock‑trial experience. Candidates should be passionate about law, teaching, leadership, and communication.
Qualifications- 2+ years of experience teaching, leading, coaching, or participating in mock trial.
- Practicing attorney, former practicing attorney, or legal expert.
- Proven ability to lead small or large groups.
- Calm and professional demeanor.
- Willingness and ability to work long hours.
- Self‑motivation and follow‑through.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong people skills.
- Strong public speaking skills.
- Passion for education.
In addition to teaching, instructors should assist the camp director with active supervision, recreational activities, and some administrative tasks. They must be mature, reliable, and work well with staff. Instructors are expected to act as mentors, lead field trips, and guide students on excursions. They share responsibility for students’ health and safety in addition to instructional objectives. The position is residential: room, board, and parking are provided.
Preference is given to candidates willing to live on campus; commuters are considered.
Online instructors must have reliable computer access and a stable internet connection. They should have strong working knowledge of Zoom and Google Classroom; refresher training will be provided.
