Position
This is a short‑term and/or temporary online Health and Wellness teaching position for the University of Minnesota – Crookston Campus's Math, Science, and Technology Department for the 2026–2027 academic year. The position is based on enrollment. There is a possibility that this course and any short‑term teaching position will not be taught during the semester or academic year based on enrollment needs.
Responsibilities- Develop and teach courses
- Advise students with regard to academic concerns and school‑related organizations
- May provide service‑related teaching duties
- Participate in decision‑making regarding the policies, courses, and programs with which there is involvement
- Continue personal growth within the profession, keep current with the field, and broaden knowledge and expertise
Deliver high‑quality instruction to undergraduate students in coursework in the fields of health and wellness. Assist in the development of department goals and objectives; advise students; support research and community outreach in the area of discipline. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining strong ties to scholars in the field, enriching the student experience and supporting student employment opportunities. The position requires regular office hours.
Qualifications- Master’s degree, preferably in the teaching discipline
- Or, Master’s degree in another field, plus 18 graduate credits in the teaching discipline
- A terminal degree in the discipline or related area is preferred
- Professional and/or teaching experience related to assigned instructional responsibilities
- Candidates must demonstrate self‑awareness, cultural competencies, and achievement in working with diverse student populations
- Excellent oral, written, interpersonal skills
- Ability to read, write, and understand English
- Candidates must be eligible to work within the United States
Pay Range: $1300–$1500 per credit based on experience, course, and enrollment.
Retirement plan options are available for Civil Service, Faculty, Labor‑Represented, Professional & Administrative, and Temp Casual classifications.
