Position Purpose
Teaching Assistant will work with high school students in the UAS Project. Perform teaching assistant duties related to the UAS Part 107 Project, including attending the class, staying up to date on topics covered, assisting the instructor as needed, providing tutoring hours after class, and responding to student inquiries.
Responsibilities- Attend the assigned class on campus and/or via Zoom.
- Follow instructor’s guidelines related to class material and topics.
- Work with students in the classroom and/or via Zoom.
- Assist students directly during class time when opportunities arise.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as welcoming students and facilitating logins.
- Maintain a weekly log of student attendance, progress, and assistance provided.
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Expertise and prior experience in UAS systems.
- FAA Part 107 Certification preferred.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Knowledge of UAS systems, drone laws, and FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Regulations.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
- Ability to understand and follow directions.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students.
Classroom/office environment or online via Zoom. Requires a good internet connection. Ability to sit, stand, and navigate within the office area. May require travel to various NYC locations.
Compensation$18.00 to $22.00 per hour.
