Writing Tutor – Learning Center (Bethlehem or Online)

Part‑time (approximately 10 to 25 hours per week).

• Support student success by using a personalized approach to help students deepen their understanding of course material and develop effective learning strategies.
• Hold individual or small‑group tutoring sessions on campus and/or online.
• Participate in Learning Center staff meetings, ongoing professional development activities, and promptly respond to correspondence from Learning Center staff.
• Maintain complete and accurate tutoring records.
• Obtain and maintain College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) certification within one year of employment; additional duties may be assigned as required.

• Thorough understanding of the subject(s) to be tutored.
• An associate degree or higher in the discipline or a related field from a regionally accredited institution.
• B‑grade or above in each course the candidate intends to tutor.
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills; strong analytical skills; patience; and a genuine desire to help others learn and succeed.
• Previous experience as a peer or professional tutor is a plus, but not required.
