Long Term Sub MS School Counselor - Fully Remote After Initial Training

Job Description09/01/2026 to 01/04/2027 – The School Counselor will be responsible for the successful completion of the following tasks:
- Communicate regularly with students on their caseload surrounding issues of academic success, physical/social-emotional health, goal setting, post-graduate planning, student safety/welfare, and skill development both in and out of the classroom.
- Be an active part of the School Counseling team and collaborate with the 6–8 counseling department in developing programming and activities relevant to the grade band’s needs.
- Work collaboratively with other teachers to ensure that all students are successfully progressing through the program, that parents/students have a central point of contact, and that questions and concerns are answered and addressed.
- Support students in instances of child welfare/mental health concerns and monitor these situations early and often.
- Assist students in applications to non-MassCA school settings.
- Ensure that students on IEP and 504 plans are receiving any required school-counseling services.
- Develop and implement virtual methods of creating and maintaining a “school community”.
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Type: Full-time
Salary: $150 per day
Job Requirements- Current DESE License for School Counseling – Grades 5–12.
- Strong technology skills (especially with Microsoft OS and Microsoft Office).
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Student-focused approach.
- High degree of flexibility.
- Demonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
- Team-player track record.
- Willingness/ability to travel on occasion for student outreach and state testing events (may require occasional overnight travel).
- Ability to work remotely.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
