Embry‑Riddle Aeronautical University is hiring adjunct faculty to teach HUMN 430 – Ethics in Aviation (and possibly HUMN 330 – Values and Ethics) through its Worldwide campus program.
Course DescriptionThe course examines aviation ethics by integrating classical ethical theories with real‑world applications specific to the aviation industry. Topics include safety, security, engineering, air traffic management, environmental concerns, business practices, and emerging technologies. Students will evaluate how ethics shape and are shaped by aviation and identify future ethical challenges.
EligibilityAll adjuncts must be physically located within the United States, including during training. The University does not support candidates located in California or abroad, except for individuals residing and working on U.S. military bases.
Requirements & Qualifications- Doctor’s or Master’s degree in the teaching discipline, or a Master’s degree with a concentration in the teaching discipline (minimum 18 graduate semester hours).
- Recent or current experience in aviation related to the course content.
- Preferred educational disciplines:
Ethics, Philosophy, Law, Political Science. - Proof of qualifications will be required (official transcripts, copies of professional licenses or certifications, documentation of military experience, or verified professional industry experience).
