Reading Interventionist, Unbound Academy; Remote

In most weeks, you'll facilitate high-impact intervention sessions. The remainder, you'll conduct brief motivational check-ins that maintain student momentum and goal attainment. This position is ideal for those who value autonomy, rapid feedback cycles, and visible results. It is not suited for anyone seeking a rigid script or avoiding data-informed practice.

• Plan and facilitate virtual small-group and individual reading intervention sessions for students in grades 3–8
• Interpret reading assessment data to identify fluency and comprehension deficits and modify instruction promptly
• Differentiate learning activities across varied reading levels, including accommodations for dyslexia and associated reading challenges
• Monitor progress systematically and consistently, using findings to inform subsequent sessions
• Lead structured motivational check-ins that cultivate confidence, resilience, and pride in measurable growth

• Deliver large, whole-class lessons or present from a rigid, predetermined curriculum
• Execute a pre-scripted program without adjusting to individual student needs and live feedback
• Function as a passive "software supervisor" lacking genuine instruction and relationship-building
• Depend on superficial incentives that fail to foster enduring motivation

Take ownership of outcomes for grades 3–8—quantifiable improvements in fluency and comprehension—by providing tailored virtual interventions and motivational support that fosters confidence.

• Bachelor's degree in education, literacy, or a directly related discipline
• Reading intervention certification or endorsement (e.g., Arizona Reading Specialist K-12 or comparable state credential)
• Specialized training or certification in dyslexia intervention (or related structured literacy methodologies)
• Minimum of 2 years of experience providing small-group or individual reading interventions for students in grades 3–8
• Experience working with students who have dyslexia or related reading difficulties
• Capacity to analyze progress monitoring data and apply it to inform and refine instruction
• Demonstrated ability to engage and manage students in a virtual environment through clear, motivating communication
• Availability to work in a hybrid capacity in Arizona as needed.

This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $30 USD/hour, which equates to $60,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
