JOB PURPOSE
The Visiting Program Administrator, Health and Community Wellness serves as a full-time 12-month academic professional and has the primary responsibility for providing oversight, leadership, and supervision for grant projects and special initiatives within the Center for Food Systems, Nutrition Security, and Health Integration and the broader Health and Community Wellness team at the University of Illinois Extension. This includes providing guidance, support, and direction to staff hired as part of Extension grants and special initiatives related to planning and implementation of statewide and regional programs, and serving as a positive representative for the Center with Extension staff, key stakeholders, and partners to facilitate program objectives.
- Bachelor’s degree in public administration, public health, community health, family and consumer science, nutrition, human development, or related field. Candidates with a bachelor’s degree in progress may be considered for interviews, but degree must be completed by hire date.
- Two (2) years of experience facilitating and guiding the work of teams.
- Experience meeting project goals and deliverables.
- Master’s degree in a related field.
- Experience with University of Illinois Extension.
- Experience supporting a remote workforce.
- Valid driver’s license.
SPECIFIC JOB INFORMATION:
Two full-time positions are available.
Location:
Urbana-Champaign Campus. In state hybrid remote work arrangements are available
This is a security‑sensitive position. Comprehensive background checks, including but not limited to a criminal conviction information check, a CANTS check, and a review of the Registered Sex Offender list, will be conducted.
EXAMPLES OF THE WORK
- Oversee and lead the implementation programs.
- Supervise and mentor team members for effective program delivery.
- Build relationships with community organizations and agencies.
- Assist in developing and managing program budgets.
- Collect program data and prepare reports for stakeholders.
- Implement strategies to raise awareness of programs.
- Identify funding opportunities and assist with grant proposals.
- Integrate best practices in nutrition education and community engagement.
- Functions and teaching roles when appropriate.
- Guide all program expansion and program quality processes.
Strong communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work within a team Environment. Knowledge of documenting grant goals and related metrics. Ability to use technology for reporting and communication.
